I’m Monika — a multidisciplinary artist based in Helsinki, Finland.

My creative journey began in Poland, where I studied Contemporary Art at the Art Academy in Szczecin. I graduated with a major in photography, but I spent just as much time drawing, painting, sculpting, and experimenting with film. Those early days taught me to see stories hidden in light, shapes, and textures — and to find beauty in ordinary moments.

Afterwards, I worked as a fashion photographer for years. But over time, I realised that what I truly loved was the storytelling itself — the imaginative worlds and emotions that live inside of me. That’s what led me to illustration, where I can play, imagine, and create more freely.

Currently, I’m studying a Design and Media Bachelor’s at Aalto University, majoring in Textiles and Colour.

My main focus is on building a portfolio in children’s and editorial illustration.
